Beit Ha’am
In 1936, the general assembly of Be’er Ya’akov decided to build a "Beit Am". To this end, we bought an old hut that had been renovated by the youth and converted for this purpose.
The People’s House served as a residence for various cultural activities, such as: lectures, theater performances, Bible and history classes. Over the years the activities moved to the school building and at a later stage a stone structure was built in the style of a Russian Kazarma (barracks) with one floor, two entrances and a raised stone platform for plays and performances.
Later, the building served as the house of the guards, where residents trained for the defense of the settlement and in its yard, weapons were hidden. The building then functioned as a cinema and today it serves as a public library.
