Rim
In 1939, "Rim" sailed from the port of Constanța in Romania. It sank near the shores of Rhodes, after a fire broke out. All of the illegal immigrants were rescued, though all their luggage was lost. The ship’s passengers spent more than six weeks in the Italian military camp on Rhodes. Afterwards, they boarded another illegal immigrant ship and continued their journey to the Land of Israel. They reached the shore of Netanya after being transferred in boats from the ship in the open sea. The boats were spotted by the British. The immigrants were arrested and transferred to the Sarafand (Tzrifin) detention camp. They were released after a period of time.
