רחוב שנקין, שנות ה-30. אוסף מטסון

רח’ שינקין שימש מרכז בעלי מלאכה, אשר הוקם בשנות העשרה של המאה ה-20 בתמיכתו של מנחם שינקין, ממייסדי העיר ומציע השם תל-אביב. ברחוב פעלו כמה מוסדות ציוניים כמו בית עיתון "דבר" - ביטאון ההסתדרות ועוד, ולידם "קפה תמר" הפועל בו עד היום. בשנות ה-80 וה-90, כחלק מתכנית "לב העיר" שקידמה עיריית תל-אביב בעזרת האדריכל אדם מזור, הפך רח’ שינקין, למתחם צעיר ואופנתי, המשלב מגורים עם הווי מסחרי וחברתי מגוון, הכולל חנויות אמנים, מקומות בילוי ובתי מלאכה.
במהלך 2012 שיפצה עיריית תל-אביב את הרחוב ובמהלכו שוקמו התשתיות, נסללו שבילי אופניים, ונחנכו בו רהיטי רחוב וריצוף חדש.

استخدم شارع شينكين كمركز لأصحاب الحرف ، والذي أقيم في العقد الأول القرن العشرين بدعم من مناحيم شينكين ، أحد مؤسسي المدينة وصاحب اقوله الاسم تل أبيب ، عملت في هدا الشارع بعض المؤسسات الصهيونية مثل مكانب صحيفة " بالفار " - صحيفة نقابة العمال المستدروته وما شابه ، وبجانبه مقهى تمار الذي لا يزال يعمل حتى يومنا هذا ، في الثمانينات والتسعينات تحول شارع شينكين في إطار مخطط " قلب المدينة " الذي بادرت إليه بلدية تل ابيب بمساعدة المهندس المعمارى آدم مازور . إلى منطقة شبابية نابضة ، تعمد ما بين الأجواء التجارية والاجتماعية وتشمل قوانين فنانين محلات ترفيه وورشات حرفيين خلال سنة ٢٠١٢ رممت بلدية تل ابيب الشارع وفي إطار أعمال الترميم فيدس البنى التحتية وتم تخصيص مسارات الدراجات الموالي وضع اثاث شوارع وتبليط جديد للارصفة

Sheinkin St. served as an artisans’ center established in the 1910s with the support of Menachem Sheinkin, one of the city’s founders and the one who proposed the name "Tel Aviv". Several Zionist organizations operated in the Street, such as "Davar" the newspaper of the Histadrut Labor Union, and others, as well as the nearby Café Tamar, which operates there to this day. In the 1980s and 1990s, as part of the "Heart of the City" plan promoted by the Tel Aviv municipality with architect Adam Mazor, Sheinkin St. became a young and trendy area, combining residential buildings with diverse commercial and social venues including artists’ shops, places of entertainment and workshops. During 2012 the Tel Aviv municipality renovated the street, rehabilitating the infrastructure paving bicycle lanes and introducing new Street furniture and paving stones.
