Born in Fredonia, Columbia (1919-1995) One of the most important sculptures in Colombia and Latin America. His statues are found in almost all the main cities of Colombia.
In 2016, during the celebrations of the 203rd anniversary of the independence of the province of Antioquia, part of his ashes were transferred to the statue and placed next to the "Monumento a la Raza" statue that he sculpted. On the sign indicating this fact appears his signature and his palm print
