Born in Bosanquet, Ontario, Canada (1860-1950). A sculptor that grew up and lived in the United States (moved from Canada at age 6). Proctor studied in New York at the Academy of Design and later at the Art Students League of New York. He continued his studies in Paris where he also met Augustus Saint-Gaudens with whom he collaborated on a number of sculptures. It is best known for its famous monuments in the United States.
