Born in Vienna, Austria (1885-1954), he immigrated to Israel in 1920 (after a meeting in Vienna with Benjamin Zeev Herzl). Prior to immigrating to Israel, he studied engineering at the Vienna University of Technology, and even worked as a civil engineer. One of the first to design international-style buildings in Tel Aviv. For several years he was a partner with Shlomo Liaskovsky and together they designed houses and commercial buildings, mainly in Tel Aviv.
