The sign indicates the "Processional Cross" (a cross used in Christian ceremonies) placed in 2003 in the Cathedral of Taormina, at the same time as identical crosses were placed in the same year at the North Pole, the South Pole, Mount K2 and Mount Blanc.
The 2 meter high cross was made by Andrea Trisciuzzi.
