Founders’ Hut

Founders’ Hut
In 1929, the founders of the kibbutz of Hashomer Hatzair settled in Merhavia, and lived in the stone houses in the Great Yard.
In 1931, three wooden huts were erected in the south of the yard. Regarding their origins, there are several hypotheses, one of which is standing here, was moved from a more distant place in the kibbutz until in 2018 it was preserved and restored for display.
The shack includes two living rooms and a common balcony with a bench-closet for each room, without toilets. In the past, young members who decided to enter a "family room" lived in it, as well as military veterans, immigrants and members of nuclear groups.
