In this place stood the Dolphinarium club, which became a discotheque. On June 1, 2001, a suicide bomber blew himself up at the entrance to the club, that day was Friday night, a day when hundreds of young people went to celebrate at the club.
21 boys and girls were murdered in the attack, most of them immigrants from Russia and the Soviet countries.
This is why inscriptions in Hebrew and Russian are engraved on the monument.
An inscription in English appears on the back of the monument
IN MEMORY OF INNOCENT CITIZENS
AMONG THEM MANY YOUNGSTERS
WHOSE LIVES WERE CUT OFF BY MURDERERS
IN A BLOODY TERROR ATTACK,
ON FRIDAY NIGHT 1. 6. 2001
MAY THEY REST IN PEACE
