About the Sculpture : The memorial in Tel Aviv’s HaKovshim Garden is dedicated to the fallen in battle for the liberation of Jaffa from members of the Haganah and the Irgun.
On one side of the memorial is the verse: "They were swifter than eagles. They were stronger than lions"
On the other side are the symbols of the State of Israel (Menorah), the city of Tel Aviv, the HשGשמש and the Irgun, and underneath it is written: "Remember the defenders of Tel Aviv and the occupiers of Jaffa."
