Hôtel Simon
Cet hôtel particulier tient son nom de la famille de marchands et fabricants de soie, Simon du Petit Bois.

Construit au XVIIIe siècle, il est jumelé avec la maison contiguë dont l’entrée s’effectue par la rue Briçonnet.
L’ensemble fait face à la place des Joulins qui résulte de la démolition d’un îlot pour l’accès à la faculté des Tanneurs construite en 1972 au bord de la Loire.
Le nom Joulins vient d’une famille de soyeux, dont l’un des membres, René Joulins, vivait ici au XVIII° siècle.

This private mansion house takes its name from the family of silk merchants and manufacturers, Simon du Petit Bois.

Built in the 18th century, it is twinned with the adjoining house whose entrance sits on rue Briçonnet.
The establishment faces Place des Joulins which was formed when a block was demolished to provide access to the Tanner College built in 1972 on the banks of the Loire.
The name Joulins comes from a family of silk merchants, a member of which, René Joulins, lived here in the 18th century.
