Comments:
The statue commemorates Admiral William Sidney Smith, who was a British naval officer during the Napoleonic Wars. He also served in the Swedish navy, helped the French forces in the French revolution, in the British navy, was elected as a member of parliament and more.

In a statue made by Thomas Kirk in 1845, Smith appears in the Battle of Acre, where he fought Napoleon and helped to fortify the walls of Acre, wearing the insignia of the Swedish Navy.
