Comments:
The memorial was erected in 1922 to commemorate Great Western Railway workers who fell in the First World War. After World War II, the central sign was changed, and the lower sign was added.

A monument made by Charles Sargent Jagger shows a soldier in winter uniform reading a letter from home.
On both sides of the sign there are reliefs of the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force (RAF)

The statue was photographed on the same day Click for a larger image
So is the monument in its entirety Click for a larger image
