[Symbol of Historical monuments & heritage sites - Monument historique] [Silhouette of the bridge] Pont des Arts
The Pont des Arts (Bridge of the Arts) connects the right and left banks of the Seine. The bridge built between 1801-1804 was the first metal bridge built in Paris. The bridge was also known thanks to the "love locks" that were hung on its fences, which eventually led to their collapse
The bridge, which is intended only for pedestrians, is 155 meters long and 11 meters wide. It is designated as a historical heritage site of France.
