The plaque commemorates the journalist of Spanish origin Jean-Louis Calderon (1958-1989) who worked for TV network 5 (La Cinq).
Calderon was sent to Romania to cover the Romanian revolution (revolution in 1989 in which Nicolae Ceausescu was deposed and executed). He was run over by a tank and died of his injuries.
