A bridge connecting Ile de la Cita (one of the two islands in the center of the Seine) with the left bank of the Seine.
The bridge was first built in 1378, since then it has been destroyed and rebuilt many times, until the current bridge built in 1857 during the reign of Napoleon III (this is the meaning of the letter N appearing in the center of the bridge, as you can see in the following picture) The bridge is 62 meters long and 30 meters wide.
The name of the bridge appears at the entrances to it: PONT SAINT MICHEL CONSTRUIT SOUS LE REGNE DE NAPOLEON III COURANT 1857
