A bridge connecting Ile de la Cita (one of the two islands in the center of the Seine) with the left bank of the Seine.
Initially the bridge was built in 1624, after the bridge collapsed in 1709 it was replaced by the other bridge that stood until 1847, when in 1883 it was replaced by the current bridge made of metal. The length of the bridge is 45 meters and its width is 20 meters.
Its name was given due to the payment that was imposed for the crossing and was used to build the bridge ("double" denier)
