Nuclear submarine anchor
Admiralty-cast 16A

This prototype is from HMS Dreadnought, the Royal Navy’s first nuclear-powered submarine.

Stowed vertically in the underside of the boat and checked by remote controls, the anchor completely closed the housing. Its curved crown followed the streamlining of the hull and answered the need for flush stowage.

On loan from Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust

Please do not climb on these anchors.
