In the statue in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Prometheus is depicted as the god who created man and brought fire to men, and was punished for it.

The statue was originally made of wood in 1955 by Ossip Zadkine. In 1979, the metal statue was created, which was placed in its current location in 2000. The statue was photographed on the day the sign was photographed Click for a larger image
