Kenwood is one of Londons finest country houses. The house is a masterpiece by Robert Adam who remodelled its facades and interiors in the 1760s for the 1st Earl of Mansfield. The grounds were re-designed in the 1790s by Humphry Repton, who created magnificent vistas towards the city. In 1929, Kenwood was given to the nation, together with an internationally important collection of paintings, known as the Iveagh Bequest, and has been enjoyed by the public ever since.
Kenwood House (also known as the Iveagh Bequest) located in Hampstead Heath, and designed by Robert Adam in 1760, served as the residence of the Earl of Mansfield and now contains a collection of historical paintings. The place is managed by English Heritage.
