In August 1944, as part of the Battle of Paris, the French Forces of the Interior (FFI - Forces françaises de l’intérieur) fought together with the Free French Army to liberate the city from the Nazi Germans.
Laboudance, who came from the checkpoints to distribute arms and ammunition, was shot by the Germans, in this place.
