Le square rend hommage au directeur des Archives nationales, Charles Victor, Langlois (1913 1928). La fontaine dite des Guillemites est adossée à un mur de l’eglise Notre-Dame des Blancs-Manteaux. Cette fontaine du XVIIIe siècle a été déplacée à l’initiative de la Commission du Vieux Paris en 1930. Le square, dédié aux activités ludiques, est tres fréquente par les habitants du quartier.

Sign in a series of signs placed by the municipality of Paris describing the history of the city’s gardens.
The garden is named after Charles-Victor Langlois (1863-1929), historian, archivist and researcher of the history of writing. Langlois was the director of the National Archives between 1913-1929.

The square pays tribute to the director of the National Archives, Charles Victor, Langlois (1913 1928). The so-called Guillemites fountain leans against a wall of the Notre-Dame des Blancs-Manteaux church. This 18th century fountain was moved at the initiative of the Old Paris Commission in 1930. The square, dedicated to fun activities, is very frequented by residents of the district.
