שכונת המיליונרים

בשנת 1938 החלו דיונים על הקמת שכונה חדשה שקיבלה את הכינוי "שכונת המיליונרים" למרות שועדת השמות קבעה את השם "חירות" ע"ש קבוץ ההכשרה של ראשוני ג"ב. עד 1941 הוקמו שם 18 צריפים ובית שימוש ציבורי. תוך 8 שנים נוספו עוד 12 בתים בנויים, כולם בסטנדרט הקיבוצי דאז, 12 מ"ר!.
האווירה המיוחדת של ה’מיליונרים’ דבקה בילדי השכונה שבגרו והקימו משפחות ורבים חזרו לגור בה.

Millionaires’ neighborhood

In 1938, discussions began on the establishment of a new neighborhood that received the nickname "Millionaires’ Neighborhood" even though the naming committee decided on the name "Freedom" after the training group of the Givat Brenner pioneers. By 1941, 18 barracks and a public toilet were built there. Within 8 years, 12 more were added. Built houses, all according to the kibbutz standard at the time, 12 square meters!
The special atmosphere of the ’millionaires’ stuck with the children of the neighborhood who grew up and started families and many returned to live there.
