In the current plate appear an equation of the Scottish physicist James Clerk Maxwell (1879-1831), who worked in several fields including theories about gases, electromagnetism, and works in mathematics.
The plate shows Maxwell’s equations, 4 partial differential equations that describe the relationship between the electric field and the magnetic field. These equations show that light is an electromagnetic wave.
