Welcome to Durham Cathedral

For more than 1000 years people have worshipped God on this site. Originally a monastic cathedral, the present building dates back from 1093. We welcome all who come, be it from our local community or around the world. We invite you to journey as a pilgrim and explore this ancient and living centre of faith.

Durham Cathedral is a community that explores faith through prayer and worship, and is the seat of the Bishop of Durham. We invite you to join us in worship and use this space for prayer and reflection.
