She was born as Hanna Haberfeld to a German-speaking ultra-Orthodox family. When she was 20 years old she was taken to the Ravensbrück concentration camp in Germany. She was saved and came to Israel in 1950, left the religious way of life and since then has expressed herself, written and edited in Hebrew.
The first woman in Israel appointed to the position of editor of an important daily newspaper - "Davar", which she edited for 20 years. As editor, for the first time appointed a woman to the position of military correspondent
When she received the Sokolov Lifetime Achievement Award, she said that there are jobs in which only men can succeed due to one simple fact: they have a woman at home who relieves them of every other burden. "The problem with women is that they don’t have wives," she said.
