The fountain in the Grote Markt is designed in the shape of the city’s emblem (three X’s).

In 2022, the fountain was named after the boy Tijn Kolsteren, who in 2016 started a campaign to raise funds for children in war zones by painting his nails. The donation campaign was successful, and more than 2.5 million euros were collected.

Tijn died a year later of brain cancer.
