חמישים מינים של ליגוסטרום, כולל מין זה, גדלים בר באסיה ומין בודד באירופה. העץ ירוק-עד עם פרחים לבנים,קטנים, המופיעים בתחילת הקיץ. מפרחים אלה מתפתחים פירות כחולים-שחורים, תלויים מן העץ בצברים יפים.

Chinese Privet

Natural range: China, Korea, Japan

Fifty privet species (including this one) grow wild in Asia, and one in Europe. Green year round, this tree grows tiny, white, early-summer flowers. These produce large, dense, heavily hanging clusters of blue-black berries.
