Comments:
The sign is one of the signs indicating famous people who have stayed at the Chelsea Hotel.

The plaque commemorates the science fiction writer and physicist, Arthur C. Clark. who wrote his book 2001: A Space Odyssey in this hotel.

The sign shows a famous quote from the book/movie, in which the computer HAL 9000, a computer with artificial intelligence, refuses to admit that it has a malfunction, and does not let the spaceship commander return to the ship because he is afraid it will harm the mission.
