Kahal Shalom Synagogue is included in the World Monuments Watch program of the World Monuments Fund, a non-profit organization that aims to preserve sites of historical or cultural value. Every two years the organization publishes a list of the 100 sites that are at the greatest risk of being harmed.
The Kahal Shalom Synagogue in Rhodes was chosen because it is the only remaining Sephardic synagogue in the entire island of Rhodes.
