The route established by Herbert Hobler was actually intended to raise funds for the community by the "Spirit of Princeton" association he founded.
In the path around the tiger statues in Palmer Square, there are more than 2,500 tiles, which include the names of entertainers, Nobel laureates, authors, athletes, governors, mayors, professors from Princeton University, presidents of the United States and more. But mainly the tiles include names of residents of the city, and university graduates (in this case, the year of graduation also appears on the plaque).
Senior citizens are marked with the letter V, and those who died with a *.
Each tile cost a $100 entry fee. The red painted tiles marking the edge of the path were sold for $200.
