בכ"ג באדר התשל"ה (6.3.75) הגיעה בחסות החשכה לחוף תל-אביב חולית מחבלים ערביים לביצוע פיגוע. המחבלים השתלטו על מלון סבוי. אורחי המלון ועובדיו הוחזקו כבני ערובה.

יחידה מובחרת של צה"ל ומתנדבים שהצטרפו אליה הסתערו על המלון וחיסלו את המחבלים.

בפעולה זו נפלו שלושה לוחמי צה"ל, שבעה אורחים מחו"ל ושוער המלון.

On the night of March 6th, 1975 a group of Arab terrorists have landed on the sea shore of the city of Tel Aviv aiming to conduct a terrorist attack. The terrorists took over control on the Savoy hotel, taking all guests and employees as hostages.
An elite group of the Israeli Defense Forces and volunteers has stormed the hotel and overcame the terrorists.

During this action, three of the Israeli soldiers among them the officer, seven of the hotel guests and the hotel doorman, have been killed.
