THE HIGH-JET FOUNTAIN AT THIS PLACE THE HIGH JET FOUNTAIN WAS PUT INTO OPERATION ON OCTOBER 24, 1873 BY EMPEROR FRANZ JOSEF I AND THEREFORE OPENED THE I. VIENNA HIGH SPRING WATER LINE.
THE I VIENNA HIGH SPRING WATER LINE BRINGS DRINKING WATER FROM THE SCHNEEBERG , RAX AND SCHNEEALPE AREA TO VIENNA OVER A 100 KM LONG LINE . TO THE PRESENT DAY VIENNA IS SUPPLIED ALMOST EXCLUSIVELY WITH HIGH SPRING WATER. THE VIENNA HIGH-JET FOUNTAIN IS A VISIBLE SIGN OF THE SPRING WATER FROM THE FEDERAL STATES OF LOWER AUSTRIA AND STYRIA.
