Comments:
The sign is where Lloyd’s Cafe used to be. A cafe opened by Edward Lloyd initially in Tower Street (in 1686), and moved to this location in 1691.
The cafe was a well-known meeting place in the 16th-18th centuries, where ship owners, sailors and merchants gathered, so prices and other things related to maritime traffic were set there.

The place was photographed that day Click for a larger image
