Kinneret courtyard Kinneret courtyard was the cradle of settlement ideas and the institutions that formed the infrastructure for the State of Israel. The farm’s land was one of the first lands purchased by the Zionist Organization in 1905. In 1908, a training farm for agricultural studies was established there. The name "Kinneret" was given by the writer Shmuel Yosef Agnon to both the farm and the settlement.
Havat Kinneret was the gathering place, formation and shaping of the dreams of the young people of the second aliyah. From here came the founding group of the Degania A group and also of the workers’ seat. This is where the "Unity Trio" that created the Kinneret Group operated. From here came the ten families of the pioneers from Yemen, and from here came the nuclei that established Kibbutz Ein-Harod, Kibbutz Afikim, Kibbutz Ein Gev and the Maagan group.
In 1911, the "Girls’ Farm" was established there, which trained women for agricultural work. This is where the first gathering of women workers took place and this is where the "Hamshevir" was established. A conference that convened there established the "Hagana" and Bank Hapoalim. Thinkers, leaders, laborers lived and worked there, among them A.D. Gordon, Berel Katznelson, Rachel the poet, Israelite Ben Zion, Noah Naftolsky and more.
In collaboration with the Kinneret Courtyard Association and the Jordan Valley Regional Council, the Council for the Preservation of Sites carries out preservation and restoration operations in the courtyard.
