The Large Shelter
Its construction began in the middle of the War of Independence. In the battles of April 1948 against the Jordanian army it was still impossible to use it.
During the containment battles against the invading Iraqi army and the prolonged siege, this was the heart of the settlement; It focused on the kitchen and the food store, the clinic and the sick room, as well as two rooms for the soldiers who came in turn from the positions to rest. All the buildings around it were destroyed during the battles.
