תחנת הרכבת חיפה מרכז
תחנת חיפה מרכז הוקמה בשנת 1937 על שטח שיובש במסגרת שדרוג נמל חיפה. זו תחנת הנוסעים הגדולה היחידה שנבנתה בארץ ישראל בימי המנדט הבריטי.
האדריכל הבריטי קליפורד הולידיי תכנן את בניין התחנה כך שיתאים בתנוחתו ובסגנונו לחזיתות של דרך המלכים (דרך העצמאות) שנבנו באותה עת.
במקור נבנה בניין התחנה במתכונת מצומצמת אך יסודותיו הותאמו מראש לבניית קומות נוספות, ובשנת 1958 הוסיפה לו רכבת ישראל את קומתו השנייה, וקבעה בה את הנהלתה הראשית למשך כ-30 שנה.
בשנת 2007 שונה שם התחנה ל- "חיפה מרכז-השמונה", לזכר 8 עובדי הרכבת שנהרגו במתקפת הטילים ב-16 ביולי 2006, במהלך מלחמת לבנון השנייה.

محطة قطارات حيفا مركز
أقيمت محطة حيفا مركز عام ١٩٣٧ على مساحة من الأرض تم تجفيفها خلال عملية توسيع ميناء حيفا . وهي محطة المسافرين الكبيرة الوحيدة التي بنيت في أرض إسرائيل خلال فترة الانتداب البريطاني .
خطط المهندس المعماري البريطاني كليفورد هوليداي مبنى المحطة بحيث يتلاءم من حيث الوضعية والتصميم مع واجهات المباني على طريق الملوك ( شارع الاستقلال ) الذي أنشئ في نفس الفترة .
أقيم مبنى المحطة في الأصل من طابق واحد ولكن أساساته وضعت بشكل يسمح ببناء طوابق إضافية ، وفي عام ١٩٥٨ أضافت له قطارات إسرائيل الطابق الثاني ، والذي أصبح مقرأ للإدارة الرئيسية لنحو 30 عاماً .
في عام ٢٠٠٧ تم تغيير اسم المحطة إلى " حيفا مركز – هشمونا " إحياء لذكرى ثمانية من عمال القطار قتلوا في هجوم بالصواريخ في 16 تموز ٢٠٠٦ ، خلال حرب لبنان الثانية .

HAIFA CENTRAL RAILWAY STATION
The station was built in 1937 on land reclaimed from the sea during the enlargement of Haifa Harbour. It was the only large passenger station built in then-Palestine under the British Mandate.
British architect Clifford Holliday designed the station building to match in position and style the fronts of Kingsway (today Ha’atzmaut Road) built concurrently. Originally built with a single floor, a second one was added in 1958 and housed Israel Railways’ General Management for some 30 years.
In 2007 the station was renamed "Haifa Center - HaShmona" to commemorate the 8 railwaymen killed in the Lebanese rocket attack of July 16^th 2006.

The sign shape is rectangular but its head is designed according to the silhouette of the old building of the Gymnasia Herzliya, which serves as a logo of the Council for the Preservation of Heritage Sites in Israel
