The sign is on the gate of the Strawberry Fields Orphanage, the orphanage in Liverpool that was the subject of a song written by John Lennon, "Strawberry Fields Forever." As a child, Lennon used to play in the courtyard of the place that was no longer used as an orphanage, but as a place of the "Salvation Army." As you can see in the picture, the entrance gate on which the place is named, is filled with graffiti of Beatles fans.
