Founders Garden
(Formerly - Maccabi Stadium) After the establishment of the Rehovot colony, the "Colony Garden" was established here, the first public park for the welfare of the residents of Rehovot.
In 1934, the "Maccabi" field was established, the sports activity center of the "Maccabi Yehuda - Rehovot" association, which commemorates the work of teacher Yehuda Teller, in the spirit of the saying: "A healthy mind in a healthy body."
In 1945, the children of Rehovot planted trees on part of the compound that forms the "Founders Garden", in honor of the founders of the colony. As part of "Maccabi Rehovot", there were gymnasiums, athletics and ball games, a sports hall for public and festive events, the "Maccabi" pool for training and swimming competitions for children, youth and adults and activity facilities of the "Maccabi Hatzair" youth movement.
The luxury teams of "Maccabi Rehovot" have achieved significant achievements in national and international sports competitions in the fields of football and handball, hockey, basketball, wrestling and boxing, tennis and table tennis, swimming, athletics and gymnastics, and were a source of great pride for all residents of the colony.
The Magen David Adom and WIZO Rehovot stations also operated in the complex.
The Founders Garden currently covers the entire complex and serves as a center for urban events for the benefit of the public.
