קיבוץ קרית ענבים מבסיסי הפלמ"ח וחטיבת "הראל"
בשנת תש"ד (1944) הוקמה בפלמ"ח פלוגה ח’ שבסיסיה היו בקיבוצים באיזור ירושלים וביניהם קרית ענבים. אוהלי מחלקת הפלמ"ח שכנו בסמוך בערוץ הנחל.
עם תחילת מלחמת העצמאות, היה הקיבוץ לבסיס העיקרי של לוחמי הפלמ"ח שהגנו על הדרך לירושלים וממנה. לאחר הקמת חטיבת "פלמ"ח הראל", בחודש ניסן תש"ח (אפריל 1948) שכנו בקיבוץ מפקדות גדודיות של החטיבה עד לירידתה לנגב בחודש כסלו תש"ט (דצמבר 1949).

Kibbutz Kiryat Anavim from the Palmach bases and the Harel Brigade
In 1944, Company H was established in Palmach, based in kibbutzim in the Jerusalem area, including Kiryat Anavim. The tents of the Palmach department were located near the creek channel.
At the beginning of the War of Independence, the kibbutz became the main base of the Palmach fighters who defended the road to and from Jerusalem. After the establishment of the Palmach Harel Brigade, in the month of Nissan 1948 (April 1948), the battalion headquarters of the brigade were located in the kibbutz until it descended to the Negev in the month of Kislev 1948 (December 1949).
