Monument of the Palmach Harel Brigade
The monument in memory of the fallen of the Palmach Harel Brigade was designed by the artist Menachem Shemi, whose son Aaron (Jimmy), one of the commanders of the Palmach Harel, is buried in this cemetery. The monument, inaugurated in 1951, commemorates the names of the 418 brigade fighters who fell in the War of Independence on the way to Jerusalem, in the battles in the city, in Gush Etzion and on the way to it, and throughout the Negev and Sinai.
