Kfar Warburg Checkpoint On May 12, 1948, the saboteurs of the Givati Brigade: Oded Negbi and Shraga Alon were required to prepare a plan to stop the Egyptian army for fear that it would advance north toward a fence on the Majdal-Masmiya axis (Ashkelon-Ram Junction, today).
Within 3 hours the plan was submitted to the operations officer of the division and immediately after it was approved they began to carry it out in the field.
The two, with the help of six soldiers, conceived, planned and installed for ten days, a complex and elaborate checkpoint along 1200 meters from the entrance to Kfar Warburg to the Fraser Bridge over the Nahal Guvrin (Jeldia).
On both sides of the checkpoint, 392 mines were planted against a vehicle and a person, and 17 barrels of "Pogazim" were placed, a sticky flammable material against armor.
Solel Boneh engineers were asked to erect two barrier walls across the road and provide 200 "dragon teeth", stone cones 2 meters high for tank braking.
Due to a shortage of cement, 80 cones were installed.
At the southern end of the checkpoint, explosive devices were placed close to the bridge beams and in the center.
