חוליית פי הבור הוצבה על פתחו של בור המים. החוליה נועדה לאפשר התקנת מכסה לשמירה על ניקיון המים ולמנוע שאיבה על-ידי זרים וכן להקל על השאיבה בדלי ובחבל. לבור המים פתח צר, הוא הולך ומתרחב כלפי קרקעיתו וצורתו פעמונית בדרך כלל. הבור מולא באמצעות מרזבים מגגות הבתים או תעלות שניקזו אליו מי נגר מהסביבה.

The link of the mouth of the Cistern
The link of the mouth of the cistern were placed at the mouth of the cistern.
