The monument mentions a quote from the verse from the book of Jeremiah, but the place of the quote is incorrect, and instead of chapter 3, verse 44, there should be chapter 50, verse 44

The monument to the victims of the 1948 war
Ramat Gan The monument in memory of 111 martyrs, members of the city of Ramat Gan, who fell in the battles of the War of Independence, was inaugurated on the eve of Independence Day 1954.
The War of Independence was the worst in the Israeli wars and claimed more than six thousand victims, one percent of the countrys population that year.
The tombstone was designed by the architect Asher Hiram and the sculptor Yaakov Lanczynski, who chose to engrave the sentence:
"
As lions ascended from the thickets of the Jordan"
A sentence based on the verse from the book of Jeremiah (chapter 3, verse 44) :" Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the thickets of the Jordan "
The tombstone is located near the Ben-Gurion Elementary School, which is housed in a building that served as the IDFs General Staff during the War of Independence and from which the then Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion conducted the War of Independence.
From the tombstone plaza there is an observation to the west towards the Heroes Avenue
