The Ottoman Customs House

The Ottoman customs house, which the British demolished when they built the new port, was made of local sandstone and had a red shingle roof. Its northern facade was designed in Greek style, with Doric columns and gables. The southern façade, adjacent to the stairs leading down to the pier was built before the construction of the port to the south.
