Pilares da Ponte Pênsil Segundo projecto do engenheiro Estanislau Bigot, que tambérm dirigiu as obras, foi a Ponie Pênsil inaugurada em Fevereiro de 1843. Desactivada. em 1887, restam apenas do lado norte os dois pilares de granito (agora incompletos) que sus- tentavam a ponte suspensa, assim como a ruína dos dois andares da casa da guarda miliiar.
The Suspension Bridge was a project of the engineer Estanislau Bigot and was inaugurated in February 1843. In 1887 it stopped being used. Today, all that rernains of the bridge are the two incomplete, granite piers on the north side that once supported it.
World Heritage Site - a site declared by the UNESCO (World Heritage Committee) as a special site that has a contribution to human heritage.
The bridge is included in the Porto Historic Center declared in 1996 as a World Heritage Site
