The sign is on the fence of the house where Ephraim Kishon lived - writer, playwright, screenwriter and satirist, born in Budapest, Hungary (1924-2005), immigrated to Israel in 1949. Kishon, born under the name Franz Hoffman, was one of the greatest satirists in Israel. A regular satirical columnist in the "Maariv" newspaper, in which he usually described the wonders of the Israeli bureaucracy Wrote dozens of books. Famous films were made following his characters: Salah Shabti, Aravinka, the policeman Azoulai and more. He won the Israel Prize for Contribution to Society (2002), the Bialik Award (1998), the Sokolov Award (1958), the Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Film (1965, 1971), and dozens of other awards.
