Historical background
The Mosheva Garden is the oldest garden in Rishon Lezion and is also known by the names:: Garden of the Hair and Garden of the Benefactor.
The garden was planted in 1883
, and its origin is because of water that was discovered there. A year later Baron Rothschilds gardeners turned the garden into an agricultural experiment station.
In 1890, an avenue of palm trees was planted in the garden to welcome the distinguished guests who came to visit the garden including Herzl, Rothschild, Chaim Weizmann, Albert Einstein, Lord Balfour and Winston Churchill.
In 1940 it was decided to change the name to "Gan Moshava"
In the garden there are different trees, each accompanied by a suitable sign
About the signs
The signs are made of metal, are on a pole and are rectangular. Two signs are on the fence of the entrance gate in Hebrew and English
The signs in front of the different trees indicate the type of tree, its scientific name, origin, the properties of the tree, and sometimes also a story related to the tree, the garden or the colony
