Born in Portsmouth, UK (1806-1859). British engineer who designed steamships, railways and bridges. It is famous for the Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol and in other bridges in London and other places. As the chief engineer of the Great Western Railway, he designed the railway between London (Paddington station ) and Bristol.
