Sculptor

Born in Alexandria, Egypt (1942-2008), he immigrated to Israel in 1945. He worked in Israel and London (where he also studied). Gechtman dealt extensively with mourning issues and in particular with mourning awareness. In 2007 he won the Minister of Culture’s Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Field of Plastic Arts.
